M189 objectives are to complete a physical-biogeochemical survey in the tropical Angolan and Benguela upwelling system with state of the art instruments to deciphering variability of the eastern boundary circulation and processes involved in upwelling of nutrient-rich thermocline waters. The fellow’s project involve analysing the distribution of upper-ocean salinity in conjunction with fish catch data.
